Thank you for taking the time to learn about Professional Transitions and Pathways, LLC., based in Washington, DC. I have worked in career consulting for over twenty years and enjoy working with people and organizations in transition. Clients have included the US Department of State, the City of Alexandria in Virginia, Options Resource Careers with headquarters in Philadelphia, and individual professionals.
I enjoy working on transition and career issues with clients from the private and non-profit sectors, government, and academe. Organizational issues of interest include career management, executive resilience, global mobility and comprehensive pre-retirement transition issues.
It has been rewarding to work with professionals to jump start career and life transitions. I value the consulting relationships I have had with mid-career professionals, executives, and pre-and post-retirees seeking strategic career management consulting for themselves, their employees, or clients. I consistently receive positive feedback about my group facilitation skills and through thoughtful listening, enjoy helping organizations and indivdiuals build their effectiveness and satisfaction.
Throughout the year I work with clients currently in or relocating to the metropolitan Washington area. In addition, for several months each year I offer consulting services through the Career Transition Center at the U.S. State Department’s Foreign Service Institute. My international experience includes consulting with the University of Oslo in the development of its career center. In addition to Washingtonians, within the last year I have worked with clients from Belgium, France, Romania and Germany.
My leadership experience includes serving as director of the Career Development Center at the State University of New York at Binghamton for fifteen years. During this period I received the Chancellor’s Medal for Excellence in Professional Service from the State University of New York.
I am certified as a Master Career Counselor by the National Career Development Association and as a National Certified Career Counselor by the National Board of Certified Counselors. A recent collaboration includes designing and facilitating an interactive Professional Development Institute for the National Career Development Association with a colleague from the U.S. Department of State.
I look forward to speaking with you about how I can be useful to you. Barbara Friedman Founder and CEO Professional Transitions and Pathways, LLC firstname.lastname@example.org 202-413-7100 in Washington, DC.
